CCT#393 - Masculine

We're all about that man this week on Cute Card Thurdsay! Make us something masculine and link it up and you could win a fabby £10 voucher from Bunny Zoe's Crafts

I've used a mixture of Lost Coast Designs and  Catslife Press stamps and a couple "from my stash" (code for I didn't write the manufacturer on the stamp!). The pencils I coloured in with Stampin' Up Markers and then huffed on them before stamping to activate the colours again. That's about it.

CCT#392 - Things with Wings

We have some beautiful creations from our Design Team this week on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog and we've got a great new sponsor My Besties with a fabby prize up for grabs.

I'm afraid it's THAT time of year when those of us who make our Christmas cards start the annual slog lol!! Admittedly, I've made a sum total of 2 so far but it's a start right?

This cute little chap is a Hero Arts stamp that I've made into a robin red-breast. I think I may be using him a few more times this year as I think it's quite effective. The background cuts are various Nestabilities and the branch is by Die-Namics. The little charm is by Stampin' Up, as its the "Noel" die-cut sentiment. I made the embellishment with ribbon I bought years ago from Ribbon Oasis and berry stems and trim from Cuddly Buddly Crafts.

CCT#391 - Chocolate!

It's time for some chocolate this week at Cute Card Thursday and we are being sponsored by the fabulous Whimsy Stamps so it's well worth popping over and checking the challenge blog out!

I've used PaperArtsy stamps for this card. I started by colouring the background card with Fresco Finish paints and stamped with them. A bit of Chalk Fresco Finish on the spots I wanted blank and I stamped the image and sentiment with Ranger Archival. The oval swirls and heart are by my fabby friend Darcy UK for PaperArtsy. The beautiful flower was made for me in a swap.

PaperArtsy Challenge - Pigment Powders

I have been having a really good tidy up in my craft room and it's a lovely haven of creativity again.

I just cannot be creative in a mess. That's me - it's fine if you can!! Actually, I wish I could to be honest but there we go.

Being able to just sit down and make has led me to an extremely enjoyable session with the Brusho pigment powders. My friend Catherine has used her to great effect for ages and mine have sat unused and unloved *shame*. Well - this PaperArtsy post for the current challenge, showing lots of different ways to use the powders, inspired me to open those pots and have a go.

I started off with an M&S mint tin and took it's lid off. I then used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paint in Purple Rain and covered the tin, the matchbox blank and the little leg-spools. Then came the fun part! I taped a piece of white tissue paper to a non-stick sheet and sprinkled orange, green and purple Brushos onto it before spraying with water. That's when the magic happened - the little bits of pigment powder all sprung into miraculous life and created the most amazing background - it actually looked like velvet. I blitzed the tissue paper with my heat gun and then hung it up (carefully) to finish drying. I then used a PaperArtsy ruler stamp with black Ranger Archival to add some detail. Then I ripped pieces off and stuck them on the tin and matchbox with Ranger Glue n' Seal. I stamped the PaperArtsy wings and sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with WOW flourescent orange embossing powder. The wings were mounted on a little spring to add some dimention.

The little vial full of "blood" is by Creative Expressions and is actually full of alcohol ink. The skull is by Tim Holtz, as is the tissue tape I have stuck inside the rim of the tin. As for the spider, my son got him last Hallowe'en and he's been so realistic sat on a shelf in my craft room I've nearly swatted him a few times!! The key was from my stash and all the embellishments were stuck on using Ranger's Glossy Accents. I had huge fun making this little piece and I hope it's just the start of more creative fun.

CCT#384 - Citrus

Yes - I know it's Friday!! Well, kind of. In the school holidays things tend to wander somewhat.

This week it's all about the citrus on Cute Card Thursday. I have used this fabulous digital image from this week's sponsor Alicabel and coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics. The card was made using a Sizzix die and I've used Stampin' Up card and paper from Designer Digitals. The bows were from Wild Orchid crafts many moons ago and the brads are Prima. A Stampin' Up sentiment finishes the card off.

Do pop over to the blog and join in!

Catch-up (again!)

I've missed blogging a couple of cards for Cute Card Thursday so here's a quick catch-up.

This was for last week's theme of "water" and our sponsor was Whimsy Stamps. I've used a mixture of stamps here by Crafty Individuals, Stamps by Rhyn and Stampendous. The fishy paper is by Pink Petticoat and I've used Stampin' Up card and punches.

Then we have this week's challenge of "Pets", which is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps I've used one of their adorable digi stamps coloured with Promarkers and Copics. The paper is from a Crate Paper pad and the little man is from a K&Co kit. Some pearls from a Waco pearl pen and a Stampin' Up sentment and punched banner finish the card off.

CCT#380 - Cake!

No matter what I do, I cannot get a good photo of this card!! The background looks all muddy when it's really lovely, vibrant Brushos. Anyway, take my word for it! The rest of the card is made with
Stampin' Up punch and stamps and a few bits of sprinkles.

CCT#379 - Stars and/or stripes

I seemed to have missed a week of my life somewhere! Maybe it's down the back of the sofa .....

Anyway, it's definitely Thursday so that means another challenge from Cute Card Thursday and this week we want to see your creations with strips, stars or both! I am greedy so I went for both.

This gorgeous image is a downloaded image from our fabby sponsor All Dressed Up and I've coloured her with Promarkers and Copics. The paper is a digital download from Designer Digitals and I've used Stampin' Up card and Martha Stewart and Stampin' Up punches.

CCT#376 - Summer Colours

Well, we might as well pretend it's summer as here in Scotland we've not had much of one yet. We had a week in April. Maybe that was it!!

I've not had much chance to do any card making recently but that's going to change and I'm determined to start crafting up a storm. Well, maybe a slight squally shower.

This lovely bright paper is from a collection by Designer Digitals and I've used a Penny Black birds die. The feather is a Spellbinders die and the sentiment is Stampendous.

CCT#367 - Buttons and Bows

A nice easy challenge this week from Cute Card Thursday

To make my card I've used a lovely dandelion clock stamp by Bee Crafty and a sentiment from a Penny Black set. The paper is from Prima "Butterfly" collection and card is from Stampin' Up. The Ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis and the gorgeous glittery buttons are from this week's sponsor Bunny Zoe's Crafts. I cut the card behind the ribbon from a masterboard I made a while ago.

Hope you are having a fantastic Easter break - the sun has decided to shine here but unfortunately I have a nasty chesty thingy which doesn't seem to want to go away, which is not good when my garden is tantilising me with all the planting I have to do!!

CCT#362 - Fancy Corners

Another fab theme this week from Cute Card Thursday - your interpretation of Fancy Corners.

This is a fabby Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration set of 3 stamps which I think lends itself to so many possibilites, but in this instance I've used them all together in a stack. The card is SU also, as is the cupcake punch. I've used Tied Together embossing folder on the background and corners and some Card Candy finishes them off.

I've used Stampin' Up card and ink and the punched hearts border is by Martha Stewart. A gorgeous pearl trim finishes it off.

Calendar Challenge - January

My friend Darcy is running a monthly calendar challenge whereby you buy a large square 2015 calendar and every month use prompts to alter it. I am a little late seeing as it is actually now (just) February, but I am hoping Darcy will let me off as it was finished yesterday but just not dry lol!!

This month the calendar started off looking like this. It's not too hideous really but we were told to get one that we don't hate as part of the original design will be incorporated every month. This month the prompts were to have crackle effect and use print on your page.

I started off with PaperArtsy Fresco paint in Sherbert and covered most of the background, barring the two focal butterflies, before putting Ranger Crackle Effects onto the butterflies. I then used a Dylusions stencil and Ranger Adirondack paint for the leaf border. The frames for the butterflies were cut using Nestabilities and they and the bookprint (from Fruit Pixie - they do great little packs of print and music sheets) were coloured with Distress Inks. I then used one of Darcy's own stamps from her PaperArtsy range to stamp the cogs in Fresco paint. It all looked a bit bright so I brushed over some Fresco paint in nougat to tone it down a bit. Some doodling and a  a stamped title finish it off.

Right - off to do February's page now!

This week on Cute Card Thursday we are trying to banish the January blues by making lovely and colourful creations.

My owl, background and sentiment are a digi stamp from Diane's Daydream Designs, who unfortunately is no longer trading. I've used Stampin' Up cardstock, Nestabilities and a Creative Expressions embossing folder.
